Turtle Love - Saturated Canary Digi

Hello there!

Somehow I haven't been sharing anything for the whole week... But today I'll fix that :)
In the new card I've made, I've used a wonderful digital image by Saturated Canary - Turtle Love. It took me some time to finish coloring, but as anybody who ever colored this girl would say "It was fun".

This is the front of the card:

Be sure the tag may be pulled out and there's plenty of space to write down your sentiment:

Here's a close-up of the coloring:

The following Copics were used:
Skin: E0000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair: Y21, YR23, E15, E18
Outfit: YR00, YR02, YR04, YR09; RV32, RV34, RV66; YR21, YR23, E15; T6, T4, T1
Grass + Turtle: YG03, YG63, YG67, G82, G99
Ground: E40, E41, E43, E44, E47

Inside the card there's an unfolding pocket on the left, and another pocket for the tag on the right:

When you unfold the pocket, you find an envelope (from Maya Road, by the way) for a personal message you wouldn't like to disclose on a tag.

And one additional tag for another note (this tag goes inside the stitched pocket):

The back of the card:

Several close-ups and details:

On this card I used self-made embellishments of flower sprays. I made them following this simple and easy tutorial from You Tube. Here's my result:

2. Anything Goes @ Creative Inspirations

Fairy Needle - My First "Mini Album" Try

**** 05/05/2013 Edit:

This album won the first prize at Child's Play Challenge!
In addition, it was included into Top3 at Dream Valley Challenges.
And got a prize at Love To Create "Punches or Dies" Challenge
I'm so happy!

--------------------------------------------------------
Hello dear visitors and welcome a new day!

Today's post may be a little long, so I'm warning you :)
Most of the time I make cards, but I've always wanted to make mini-albums too. I just adore mini albums, especially in a grange & vintage style. I find very inspiring the works of an extremely talented crafter - Anne (you can find her blog here, or a YouTube channel here). Her mini albums are totally amazing!

I may admire Anne's style, but my style is different - ribbons, butterflies, flowers and Copic colored images. What can I say - even my mini-albums look like cards :) hhh

The one I'm sharing with you today was made especially for a 'Mo's Digital Pencil' DT Call (I wanna try my luck), I used Mo's Digital stamp called Fairy Needle. The folding instructions may be bound here.

The image is Colored with Copics of the following colors:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair: W5, W3, W1
Wings: B000, R000
Needle: C4, C1, C0
Outfit: R89, R85, R83, R81
Lips: R32

A look on the opened album from above (this way you can see all the folds and pages):

After you open the cover, this is how the first page looks:

Unfolding another page:

These are photo mats (altogether there are 4 of them for the pictures of 3.5" X 5", and another 4 smaller ones for the pictures of 2" X 3"). I've attached transparent photo corners to each mat. A clear plastic strip holds the mats on the album's page:

Unfolding the third page:

And the fourth:

And getting to the middle:

Above the middle part of the album there are two folds with pockets and little tags for notes and journalling:

The papers I used are from the Prima 6X6 Botanical Paper Stack. The mini is pretty chunky and heavy. I stitched each and every page:

Several close-ups from the pages:

And from the front cover:

The big brown flower is a hand-made one (I used Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Bigz Die and brown cardstock to make it, misted it with the Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold glimmer mist).

The chipboard scissors are from Kaiser Craft Wooden Flourishes FL389.

I used (as usual) several dies here:
Spellbinders Circle Dies,
- Magnolia So Wrapped Tilda Lace,
- Spellbinders Lacy Circles,
- Magnolia Feather Dies,
- Cheery Lynn Small Exotic Butterflies,
- Cheery Lynn Nautical Wheeler Doily.

The wings of the fairy are covered with Clear Rock Candy Distress Dry Glitter:

I want to enter this mini in the following challenges:

3. Tis a Twine @ Wild Orchid Crafts
4. Anything Goes @ Challenges 4 Everybody

Today my package from "Simon Says Stamp" has arrived (it was shipped on the 5th of April). I've ordered 6 paper stacks by First Edition Paper. Each stack contains 64 sheets of heavyweight cardstock paper, lots of pages have embossed elements, and the designs are so pretty!! I recommend you try those papers too!

Some dies and Magnolia Postal stamps:

Score Tape (so strange that this amazing product is not widely sold here in Singapore, only one shop has it, so I've decided to add these to my order from Simon)

On the past weekend we had a real April shower!!! It was foggy and gloomy outside:

See for yourself:
That's it for today! Thanks for reading!
Pop back soon and have a pleasant sunny day!

Magnolia Tilda With Candle

Hello ladies!

Today I'm here with a new card, which is pretty simple. I really wanted to try and make this kind of a folded card, so I grabbed a Magnolia stamp (Tilda with candle), found the explanations and this is the result of my work for today :)

When opened, here is how the car looks inside:

Close-ups of the details:

I've used Martha Stewart punch around the page called Vintage Doily, Magnolia Doohickey Die Vintage Box Lacing Coffee, Marianne Design Creatables Scallop Circles LR0180.

The paper are from Prima Paper Stack Botanical Collection.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
1. Mavelous Magnolia Challenges - Bling It On
2. Totally Paper Crafts - Monochromatic

A Spring Card - Buddle Nymph

Hello again!

There are so many challenges taking place now, which theme is "Spring", and this inspired me to create a card, which will be full of spring spirit, and that means to me - full of green color.

This time I've chosen for my card (for a little change) not a Magnolia. and not a Mo's Digital and even not a Saturated Canary image, but something completely new for me - a stamp by Toread, which is called Buddle. As I understand this cute little creature is a nymph :) I decided she will be my spring nymph.

I'm totally in love with the image, she's so chubby and funny! It took me quite long to color the leaves on her wreath and her outfit, but it was worth it.

Here is the list of the Copic colors I've used:
Hair: E49, E47, E44, E43
Greens: G07, G05, G02, G00
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Apples: R17, R14, R12, Blender
Basket: E59, E57, E55, E53
Shoes: C7, C3, C1

I've used a mounting foam to attach the cut-out image to a card background, in her eyes I used Glossy Accents, added a but of Crystal Stickles on the leaves:

The papers are mostly from the two paper stacks:
- Basic Grey "Infuse"
- Cosmo Cricket "Garden Variety"

Here are several close-ups:

The inside of the card is also generously embellished, with different layers of paper, tags and a "postal card" tag, on the back of which a personal sentiment is supposed to be written:

The back is pretty simple:

For those who are interested, here's the list of other stamps, die cuts & punches I've used:
Martha Stewart "Cherish" punch around the page
Alesa Baker Designs - F8864 Paris Postcard Stamp
Hero Arts "Little Tags" AC020
Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterflies
Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight
Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily DL102
Cheery Lynn Pair Of Ferns B118
QuickKutz Floral Doily
QuickKutz Nesting Bloom

I want to enter my card into the following challenges:
1. Colors of Spring -  Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge BLog
2. Welcome Spring -  365 Cards
3. April Anything Goes - Through the CraftRoom Door
4. Sunshine and Showers - Crafty Calendar Challenge Blog

6. Spring into Spring - Joanna Sheen Challenge BLog
7. Anything Goes - Challenges for Everybody

Hello dear friends and visitors!

After a fun workshop at 'JDA', I decided to practice & make another drawers box, but this time it has 4 of them. As you will see at the following pictures, on top I added a shadow box, which actually makes a wonderful place to store different tiny trinkets.

WorkShop @ Junior De Artist

Hello everybody!

Today I want to tell you about a wonderful art shop I've came across - "Junior De Artist". As you may know, I'm in the search for scrapbooking and art stores here, in Singapore, I've already been to several of them, and I think from the moment I've stepped into "Junior De Artist", it will be my favorite. You will surely ask "why"? I'll explain to you with a great pleasure, and even show :)

As far as know, the store was opened in 2000 and back in that days they were selling mostly punches. The boss's name is Freddy Yip, and every moment you drop by he will be around, rearranging things in the shop, teaching those who came to workshops, helping with a piece of advice here and there. Definitely, a very nice and kind man! Though the years, the range of the products in the store grew, and today it's well stocked with Hero Art, Penny Black, Stampendous, Magnolia and many other stamp brands, as well as QuickKutz dies, different cutting machines, Zutter products and every kind of cardstock imaginable.

Here are some pics of what they have and how the store looks inside:

Isn't that impressive?!

Two days ago I went back to the store for one of their Work Shops. Agnes Tan showed us how to make 2 tier drawers easel box. This is what I made in the end of the lesson:

That will be it for now :) Hope you enjoyed this post, come back soon!
